Without question, our nurses are the
most important staff of the organization. Their professionalism, skills
and expertise enable CNS to provide high quality, compassionate services
to the children we are privileged to serve.
Dr. Wood provides leadership and
management to the overall operations of CNS. Dr. Wood holds a doctorate
in Human Development and Family Studies and a master's degree in
Counseling Psychology and brings over a dozen years executive management
experience to CNS. She has worked extensively within the fields of
family violence mental illness, poverty and homelessness – always with
an emphasis on empowerment and raising up the oppressed. She is also a
yoga teacher, yoga therapist and executive and organizational coach.
Patti has spent her entire 30 year nursing career caring for families
and children living with chronic illnesses. After receiving her Master’s
Degree from OHSU she taught pediatric nursing, spent 13 years in
hospital administration at Shriner’s Hospital for Children and most
recently worked with children with insulin dependent diabetes. As
Director of Professional Services for CNS she is responsible for the
leadership, guidance and professional development of nursing staff as
well as compliance and quality improvement.
Though a Canadian at heart, Evelyn has worked in the
USA for 22 years. Starting in adult acute care as a travel nurse, she
found her dream job once she discovered pediatric home care. Evelyn
currently provides in-home shift care for CNS clients, and recently
accepted a part-time position of Nurse Manager. She oversees all of CNS’
clients and nurses, ensuring standards are met with regards to
physicians’ orders, charting, and evaluations. Evelyn also communicates
with the Medically Fragile Children’s Unit of DHS, and our clients’
insurance companies to maintain available nursing hours for the
children.
Sharon Wullbrandt was one of the original
founders of Children's Nursing Specialties, Inc.. As the Office Manager
she oversees the payroll, negotiates contracts with insurance companies
and bills the payer source for services provided by our nursing staff.
Sharon coordinates employee benefits and keeps a close eye on the
financial stability of the organization. Sharon has worked with the
medically fragile community since 1997 when she was hired to work with
the Legacy Pediatric Shift Care Program. Previous to that, Sharon was a
professional volunteer.
Jan has been the Staffing Specialist for
CNS since doors opened in March 2005. She is responsible for client and
nurse schedules. In addition, she keeps track of all the Medical Records
and maintains the employee files. Jan has worked in the Health Care
industry as both a staffing specialist and Certified Nursing Assistant
for three different agencies since 1976.
