Without question, our nursing staff
is extremely vital to this organization. Their professionalism, skills
and expertise enable CNS to provide high quality, compassionate services
to the children we are privileged to serve. Other key staff include:
Patti has spent her entire 30 year nursing career caring for families
and children living with chronic illnesses. After receiving her Master’s
Degree from OHSU she taught pediatric nursing, spent 13 years in
hospital administration at Shriners Hospital for Children and most
recently worked with children with insulin dependent diabetes. As
Executive Director for CNS she is responsible for the
leadership, guidance and professional development of nursing staff as
well as compliance and quality improvement.
It is evident to all that meet
Sandra that she has a special place in her heart for the
children and families we serve. Before coming to CNS, Sandra was
the clinical coordinator for another agency, also working with
medically fragile children. She, along with Evelyn oversee the
clients care by ensuring standards are met with
regard to physicians’ orders, charting, and evaluations. She and
Evelyn also supervise the nurses that care for our special
children. Sandra also communicates
with the Medically Fragile Children’s Unit and our clients’
insurance companies to maintain adequate nursing hours for the
children.
Though a Canadian at heart, Evelyn has worked in the USA for 22
years. Starting in adult acute care as a travel nurse, she found
her dream job once she discovered pediatric home care. She,
along with Sandra oversee the clients care by ensuring standards
are met with regard to
physicians’ orders, charting, and evaluations. She and Sandra
also supervise the nurses that care for our special children.
Evelyn also communicates
with the Medically Fragile Children’s Unit of DHS, and our clients’
insurance companies to maintain available nursing hours for the
children.
Sharon Wullbrandt was one of the original
founders of Children's Nursing Specialties, Inc. As the Office Manager
she oversees the payroll, negotiates contracts with insurance companies
and bills the payer source for services provided by our nursing staff.
Sharon coordinates employee benefits and keeps a close eye on the
financial stability of the organization. Sharon has worked with the
medically fragile community since 1997 when she was hired to work with
the Legacy Pediatric Shift Care Program. Previous to that, Sharon was a
professional volunteer.
Jan has been the Staffing Specialist for
CNS since doors opened in March 2005. She is responsible for client and
nurse schedules. In addition, she keeps track of all the Medical Records
and maintains the employee files. Jan has worked in the Health Care
industry as both a staffing specialist and Certified Nursing Assistant
for three different agencies since 1976.
