William Cody

William Cody, our August Featured Face is new to CNS but not the world of home nursing. William shared with us that “When I was little, I had lots of strength but as I grew older I started to loose it. Now I’ve pretty much lost all my strength including my neck muscles”. But don’t think for a minute that William let’s his disease restrict him from doing the things he loves. You might remember a tid-bit about William in a Featured Face article that ran a few years back. William was the artist that sketched Jean Shaffer for her Featured Face story. And now that William’s on service with us...we’d like to tell his inspirational story.

William is 17 years old and a soon-to-be senior at Yamhill-Carlton High School. He loves high school, especially science , and hopes to someday become a scientist. Combine that with another passion of his, cooking and you have an explosion waiting to happen. William finds his inspiration and knowledge for cuisine while tuning into the cooking channel.

Spending quality time with his family while watching movies and making popcorn is high on his to-do list. He also loves BBQ’s and family dinners when they all gather together and talk about “stuff”. And while he truly enjoys the time spent with family, the weekends are set aside for movie-watching with his nurses.

As mentioned above...William is an artist...and a good one at that! We heard through the grapevine that William enjoys drawing Superhero’s and Disney characters. It has been a desire of CNS to solicit art work from clients to use on cards and for marketing purposes. We’re thinking we’ve found our “guy” in William.

And what about those pets? All 15 of them. William has 7 dogs, 5 horses and 3 cats. Maya, the princess cat can often be found snuggling in bed next to William. Then there’s Houston, the miniature horse that also roams the house from time to time. But absolutely no snuggling in bed for him!!

William is creative, charming and totally adored by the 8-plus CNS nurses who care for him in his country home and while at school.
