CNS is pleased to present to you our newest member on
the Board of Directors, Robert Bach. And before the title of board
member...Rob was a CNS parent of a child on service.
Rob is in his 13th year as a proud homeowner in Hillsboro, Oregon. He
surrounds himself with his wife Janette, son Gabriel and daughter Hannah
and is best identified as Janette’s husband or Gabriel & Hannah’s Dad.
Outside of his responsibilities of husband/dad, and after Hannah was
born, Rob became involved in health care policy and politics. He has
served on Oregon’s Medicaid Advisory Committee and a sub-committee of
the Oregon Health Fund Board. And if that weren’t enough, he also
advocates in Salem for kids and families that experience disabilities.
Way back when...Rob earned an English/Creative Writing degree from the
University of WA which explains his “Go Huskies” mentality. And when he
remembers he has the degree he finds himself writing a “scary” short
story or two. Or better yet...putting his creative juices on hold to
cheer for the Winterhawks or the U of Dub Dawgs.
Rob is a music guy at heart and brags that he can still identify most
songs from the ‘80’s within the first few notes. He began working in
music retail back in ‘87 when vinyl was still the music of choice and
CD’s were an experimental format. Rob started out in customer service
and stockroom management and has progressed upward through the ranks
while landing jobs with Virgin Entertainment Group, Amazon.com, Lattice
Semiconductor and most recently, CD Baby. He is currently the Director
of Operations for CD Baby, based here in Portland. Over the years his
career has allowed him to rub elbows with corporate celebrities such as
Richard Branson & Jeff Bezos.
On occasion, Rob finds time to read (loves the Kindle), overindulge in
television, listen to music (surprise-surprise) and when time
allows...travel with the family. He also wants you to know that he and
Janette are working towards resurrecting their blog: www.kintropy.com.
They are hoping to overcome present technical difficulties and have it
up and running by March.
Rob hopes to retire someday which is why he faithfully invests in the
lottery. This would allow him time to finish a collection of short
stories or a novel with hopes of publication. To date, Rob and Janette
have written three children’s books which Janette is illustrating in
between Hannah’s Dr. and PT appointments. And what else would Rob do
with those lottery winnings...indulge in classical videogames. He admits
that back in the day he spent many a quarter attempting to beat the
odds. And for those that can identify...Rob invites you to join him on a
trip to Ground Kontrol. And if you don’t know what that is...you’re
probably not alone:)
