The office staff enjoyed selecting, and are pleased
to announce, Laura Piedmont as our 2010 Employee of the Year. Laura has
been described by a CNS parents as “wonderful, warm hearted, soft spoken
and because of her calm demeanor…pleasant to be around. And we couldn’t
agree more.
Laura readily recognizes the best in her co-workers
and praises them often with Heart to Heart Appreciation notes.
Co-workers recognize her strengths as well and have written Heart to
Heart Appreciation notes back to include a special “thanks” for a
“complete and professional orientation” that made further shifts much
better for the client and orienting nurse. On another occasion a Heart
to Heart was written for “having the courage to speak up” about a
controversial issue at a care conference. Laura ALWAYS puts the
requirements of client care first and is a fantastic advocate for the
physical as well as the emotional and spiritual needs of medically
fragile children.
Laura has been a CNS nurse for exactly one year and
two weeks after moving to Portland from Virginia. She was playing
on-line looking at area non-profits and accidentally discovered
CNS…..and we are so lucky that she did! Please join us in congratulating
Laura on this most deserving honor.
